Services for Howard Dale Poling will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday February 12, 2016 at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory. Friends may call from 3-7 Thursday February 11th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Raymond, Ohio.
On the evening of February 7, 2016, Dale passed away at his residence. He was born August 26, 1937 in Marysville, OH to the late Francis and Ethel Poling. He married the love of his life and wife off 55 years, Linda McMahan on March 27, 1960 at Claiborne Methodist Church, and she survives in Mt. Victory. 

He is also survived by his daughter, Sheri (Abe) Shoots of Marysville, grandchildren, Dr. Brittany (David) Reinhard of Marysville and Nicklaus Shoots of Akron, and one great grandchild, Thomas Reinhard and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Poling.

Dale grew up on a farm in Raymond, OH and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1955, served in the US Navy from 1955-1960.

Together with his wife, they enjoyed traveling, serving their community, and spending time with family and friends. He helped build the building that housed Hardin Motors in 1960 and was a partner in Hardin Motors for over 40 years until he retired 1999. He held office for the veterans organizations of the USS Loeser and USS Sperry and helped organize the annual reunions for his ships. He also served on the board of directors for AAA of Ohio for more than a decade and on the Chrysler/Plymouth/Jeep Dealer Ad Council for many years. He was a member of many civic organizations including Lions Club and Roosters Club and attended the Mt. Victory Methodist Church for 50 years. He was a caring family man and took pride in his family who adored him. He enjoyed family vacations to Myrtle Beach and camping at Indian Lake. His hobbies and special interests included gardening, bicycling, coffee club, and golf. He was an avid golfer and was a member of golf leagues in Hardin, Logan, and Union Counties.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt Victory Methodist Church, God’s Lifeline of  Mt. Victory or the Ridgemont Scholarship fund in his memory.
