Private home and graveside services for Geraldine "Gerry" Spearman will be held at later date, as it was her wishes to be cremated. Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is handling the arrangements.
Gerry Spearman went to be with the Lord at 2:45 P.M. on November 25, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born, June 27, 1915 in Ashley, Ohio to the late Bess (Kehrwercker) and Chauncy B. Hoffmire. On October 27, 1940 she married Kenneth Spearman and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1987.
Surviving are 2 sons; Jack (Kay) Spearman of Dunkirk, Jan (Denise) Spearman of Dunkirk, 8 grand children; Shaun (Andrea) Spearman, Devin (Mary) Spearman, Jadon (Erin) Spearman, Shanda (Jody) Dye, Karissa Tanille (Keith) Crooks, Brandy (Jeff) Cole, John (Tiffany Heberling) Spearman, Crystal (Mark) Meeuwse, 20 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 5 nephews, and a niece.
Gerry graduated from Ashley High School in 1933 and was soon after employed by the Electric Light office in Ashley. After her marriage she was employed in the office of Westinghouse in Lima. Once she became a mother, she was a fulltime mom and housewife.
She was a member of the Bridgeport Church, a Child Study Club and Grandmothers Clubs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bridgeport Church.
