Funeral services for Eileen F. Price will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Humpress officiating. Burial will follow at Dunkirk Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services.
She died at 9:45 A.M. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Birchaven Village. She was born on December 25, 1922 in Kenton to the late Harry and Pearl (Young) Wren. On August 10, 1941 she married Norman Price and he preceded her in death in December of 2000.
Surviving are a daughter; Judith (Ken Jr) Schlatter of Forest, 2 sisters, a brother, 7 grandchildren; Angel (Don) Hanf of Findlay, Shari (Keith) O'Brien of Arlington, Wendy (Michael) Dill of Arlington, Tamara (Donnie) Simon of Fostoria, Lori (Sam) Kalb of Kenton, Scott (Charity) Schlatter of Dunkirk, Brett (Kerri) Schlatter of Kenton, 21 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter; Sandra Elwood, 2 sisters, and a brother.
Eileen was a graduate of Kenton High School and a member of the Blanchard River Church of Christ.
She enjoyed writing, crocheting, and was an avid bluegrass music lover She would attend many festivals and performances just to hear the music.
Eileen was also very proud of her Native American heritage. She studied their history, and would visit reservations to learn whatever she could about her families past.
Memorial donations may be made to the Birchaven Village Activity Fund.
