Funeral services for Dorothy G. Reed will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services.
She died at 12:25 P.M. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. She was born on August 11, 1929 in Hardin County to the late Floyd V. and Dorena (Boecher) Bushong. On October 19, 1952 she married Arnold Dean Reed and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2017.
Surviving are 2 sisters; Rosemary Shawver of New Hampshire, Virginia (Harold) Ritzler of Kentucky, a brother; Daniel (Shirley) Bushong of Alger, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Helen Laubis, Alice Marie Willeke, Emily J. Comstock, and 2 brothers; Calvin and Dale L. Bushong.
Dorothy worked as a clerk for United Rural Electric Company for 37 1/2 years before retiring.
She was a member of the St. Johns Evangelical Church in Kenton, the Hardin memorial Hospital Guild, a Sheath Member of the McDonald Grange, several various card clubs, and was a former member of the Kenton Elks and Moose.
She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bowler.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
