David H Gordon went home to be with his Lord and Savior suddenly on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Anson, ME and is now at home with the Lord. He was born on August 31, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Willis E. "Gene" Gordon and Mary Lou (Kordenbrock) Sweet of Kenton.
David was married to Janet L Shonk on April 14, 2003.
David was a 1974 graduate of Kenton High School and upon graduating he enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years. He then attended Ohio State University in Columbus and Ft. Hays State College in KS, where he graduated with a teaching degree. He later attained his Masters Degree.
David had an exemplary teaching career, most recently at Carrabec High School in North Anson, ME, where he was loved and admired by his students. He had a special way of mentoring and connecting with his students and introduced technology one of which was an aquaponics system in his classroom.
David enjoyed camping, fishing, jogging, hiking, bird watching and simply being outside working in his garden. He was a devoted and loving husband and a wonderful father.

Surviving are his wife Janet of Anson, ME, his mother Mary Lou Kordenbrock of Kenton,OH, sister Lois Chamberlin of Belle Center and his children, (Christopher (Alyssa) Gordon- grandchildren Samuel and Alivia of AR; son Shane Gordon of KS; and daughter Lindsey Gordon of KS; step children, Josh (Megan) Aubihl of Wisconsin and Joe (Tonia) Aubihl of Germany along with three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Dennis Gordon; an infant granddaughter, Hannah Grace Gordon; two step brothers, Jerry and David Sweet and brother in law Mike Chamberlin.
Services will be held at 10:00 Saturday morning on October 21, 2017 at Price - McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites by Amvets Post 1994. Friends may call from 9:00 until time of services on Saturday..
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
