Dana L. Baker passed away in his home on 7:11 PM, December 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held on January 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at The Mt. Victory Methodist Church in Mt. Victory, Ohio. Lunch will be served in the basement of the church following the memorial service. Mr. Baker’s family will receive friends after the service during the luncheon.

Dana was born in Union County, Ohio to Elizabeth J (Betty) and Ray H. Baker on April 12, 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donny.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Norma (Gray) Baker, married April 6th, 1952.  He is also survived by his sister, Beverly (Wright )Shearer, son Dennis ( Cheryl) grandchildren, Haley( Mike) Gann, Lori (Joel) Reffner; son Gary ( Julie) grandchild Meredith and , son Kevin( Leisha), grandchildren:  , Justin, Lauren ( James) Holder. He is also survived by great grandchildren: Riley, Elliot, Harlow Gann and ,Cambelle and Keller Reffner.

Sergeant Dana Baker served in the US Army from 1952-54.

Dana’s true calling was to be a insurance agent and financial planner. He was a member of the Midwest Life Presidents Club, Life Investors Presidents Club, and was Life Investor’s Insurance Company Man of the Year in 1983. He was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Roundtable.

He was a lifelong member of the Ohio Archeological Society and served as its president from 1974-1978.

He has been a member of the Mt Victory Methodist Church since 1948.

He made nine trips to western Africa including Mali, Ivory Coast, Togo and Ghana where he made  lifelong friends providing many of them with food, clothing, housing and education.
