Visitation for Charles "Jim" Deckling will be from 4:00 to 8:00 Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Price McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Military rites at 8:00.
He died at 6:15 am Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay. He was born on July 16, 1950 in Columbus to the late George and Dora (Monk) Deckling. On August 15, 1997 he married Tara Jackson and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are sons, Adrian (Maureen) Terrill of Switzerland; Sinclair "Willie" (Brandee Ford) Fay of Bowling Green; and Jackson (Morgan) Fay of Columbus; grandchildren, Victoria Terrill and Oliver Fay. Brothers, John (Joyce) Deckling of Shelby; and Benjamin Deckling of Galion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, George; Bob; and Dick Deckling; and 1 sister, Peggy Saunders.
Jim retired from Durez and was an Army veteran serving during Vietnam.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and loved his dog Peanut.
Memorials may be made to Amvets Post 1994 Honor Guard or Bridge Hospice.
