Services for Charlene R. Penix will be held at 1:00 Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at St. John's Evangelical Church with Rev. Dr. Randall J. Forester officiating. Burial will follow at Wolfcreek Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 Monday, November 13, 2017 at Price - McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
She died at 4:15 pm Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on November 13, 1961 in Kenton to the late Harold Junior Marsh and Virginia (Castle) Sprang. On October 1, 2005 she married James Penix and he survives in Marysville.
Also surviving are 4 daughters, Nichole (Heather) Shick of Woodstock; Heather Shick of Ada; Regina Tipton of Portsmouth; and Rachel (Joe) Price of Centerville; 1 son, Aaron (Jennifer) Penix of Belle Center;  9 grandchildren, Haylyn Geiger; Jakob, Isaak, and Lukas Tipton; Jaden Penix; Liam and Logan Price; Hayleigh and Dalton Penix. Along with 5 sisters, Wilma Mullins of Paulding; Donna (Michael) Wells of Dunkirk; Nanett (Eric) Shey of Williamstown; Patricia Elwood of Chicago; and Jane (Terry) Curtis of Taylorsville, NC; 1 brother, Larry (Bonnie) Marsh of Kenton; and her step father, Glenn Sprang of Dunkirk.
She was preceded in death by a brother- in- law Sam Mullins.
She was a Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Marysville Hospital.
Charlene had a big heart, she enjoyed playing Bunko, camping, traveling, and going to dinner and a movie with her husband Jim. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
