Services for Betty L. Fry will be held at 11:00 Friday, January 22, 2016 at Price - McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, with Pastor Gregg King officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday, January 21, 2016.
She died at 10:30 am Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her residence. She was born on May 1, 1931 in Hardin County to the late Murland and M. Josephine (Flowers) Chamberlin. On March 27, 1951 she married Byron R. Fry and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2007.
Surviving are 1 son, Jon Fry of Kenton; 2 daughters, Connie Foreman of Findlay and Bonnie (Wayne) Van Schoik of Dunkirk; daughter in law, Carol Fry of Belle Center; grandchildren, Wayne Alan Van Schoik of Dunkirk; Stacy (Jeremy) Cochran of Shinnston, WV; Justin Foreman of West Chester, OH; Chelsea Fry of Belle Center; and Mathew Donnal of Denham Springs, LA. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Raley Cochran; Taylor; Cheyenne; Madison; and Kiley Donnal; great great grandchild, Hunter; sister, Sally Schertzer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Fry; 2 brothers, Robert and Coral Chamberlin; and 3 sisters, Margaret Foreman; Audrey Stauffer; and June Bair.
After the passing of her mother Betty lovingly cared for her younger siblings. She worked at Essex Wire and North Electric, retiring from the Hardin County Home where she worked as a Nurse's Aid.
Betty had a passion for following the Upper Scioto Valley Ram's sporting events. She adored her grandchildren, loved to garden, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
