 A time of celebration for the life of Amy J. Cyrus will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at a later date.
She died at 6:31 A.M. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 29, 1974 in Kenton to Kenny and Deborah (Burton) Hamilton who survive in Mt. Victory. On September 19, 1998 she married James Cyrus and he survives in Mt. Victory.
Also surviving are 2 daughters; Abby and Ashley Cyrus of Home, a sister; Tracy (Michael) Pivarnik of Dublin, a sister-in-law; Andrea (Ryan) Merchant of Forest, her in-laws; Charles and Nancy Cyrus of Forest, and 4 nieces and nephews that adored her; Alex and Isabella Pivarnik and Devin and Addison Merchant.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Gene and Shirley Burton and her paternal grandparents; Justin and Martha Hamilton.
Amy was a 1992 graduate of Ridgemont High School and worked as an aid at Simon Kenton, which she loved doing.
She attended the Kenton Full Gospel Church in Kenton.
Amy was a bright spirit who loved to be involved in the community as well as her daughters lives. She was the head chairman for Relay for Life and sat on the committee of Deployed Spouses while her husband was deployed in the military.
When she wasn't doing something with her girls, Amy enjoyed painting, driving her Camaro, loving on her pet cat, and traveling with her husband all around the U.S.
Amy will be remembered for her bubbly and positive personality, and will be deeply missed by her family and the people who knew her.
Memorial donations in Amy's honor may be made to Simon Kenton, for their activities fund.
